The Castilla Del Oro Foundation And The Knights Of The Virgin Of Guadalupe
The union of two entities that look for the progress of the communities most in need
Madrid, October 2011
After the religious ceremony, engineer Fifer-Carles, joined by the also knighted, Duke of Veragua, Cristobal Colon de Carvajal, president of the Castilla del Oro Foundation in Spain, proudly carried the flag of his homeland through the narrow streets of Guadalupe, during the march of the new knights, until arriving to the headquarters of the Royal Association of Knights of Santa Maria de Guadalupe, where this religious organization signed an important agreement of cooperation and brotherhood with the Castilla del Oro Foundation of Spain and Panama, which will benefit Panama’s rural tourism.
The celebration of this religious holiday and solemn ceremony dates back to 1928, year when King Alfonso XIII recognized the Virgin of Guadalupe as the Queen of the Hispanic World, for being the greatest symbol of the evangelization in America, a fact also recognized by UNESCO in 1993. |
